Small footprint phase locking system for a large tiled aperture laser array

A phase sensing system fitted to the control of coherent laser beam array large cross section is experimented. It based on use a fiber bundle that collects weak part synthetic wavefront, scales it down (1/40) and reshapes in more compact arrangement (2D 1D array). Then, reconfigured can be analyzed by small footprint making easier phase-lock. The discrete wavefront transmitted meter long was stabilized thanks multiple arm servo loop. Laser locking further ensured random scattering through diffuser, associated an alternating projection algorithm. Six beams constituting 110 mm diameter aperture, were phase-locked with ?/16 accuracy.
